6 Months Old

It really feels like these monthly updates come around way too quickly. 6 months ago our sweet little Lucy was born. Oh how we love her and are so glad to have her in our family!! I told the doctor today that she is not sleeping through the night on a regular basis--he said to stop feeding her in the middle of the night when she wakes-up. He said after a few nights of this she should realize it is no longer meal time at 3:00AM and should start sleeping through the night. I really hope so!!! I am ready to get a full night's sleep! (Knowing that she is my last one has made it a little easier to make it through those 3 o'clock feedings). Another problem during the night has been that she has started rolling over and once she is on her tummy she does not know how to get back to her back. Sometimes when I get upstairs to feed her, she is on her tummy and she is not happy!

Her growth is right on track. She weighed 16 pounds 2 ounces today. 26 1/2 inches long and her head is 17 inches around. She did great for the doctor today, but she was super sad after getting her shots! Hopefully she will sleep OK tonight. Here are a few pictures from today. I could not get her to smile for the camera and she was slobbering a lot!

this was her favorite face to make today during her photo shoot:

Utah

Richard, Cooper, and I went to Utah last week. My SWEET, WONDERFUL mother kept the girls here in Little Rock so that we could have a little fun and start our house hunt. That's right.....we are moving to UTAH!! Richard received a job promotion back in January and he is now the Regional Business Director (RBD) for the Great West. This has been a dream of his for a long time and I am so happy to see him reach a major goal that he set for himself. Of course it is VERY hard for me to leave the comfort of Little Rock and all of our wonderful friends (who are more like family to us). We will not move until our house here sells, so I am thinking that we will not be moving until sometime this summer--but who knows, it could take much longer for us to sell our house.

It was Cooper's first time to fly. He thought it was so cool!! He really was such a good kid the whole time we were gone. I think he enjoyed getting all the attention (but he did tell us several times that he missed Emily!!)

Right before take-off:

Our lay-over was in Las Vegas. We were able to see Hoover Dam from the plane...pretty cool!!

While we were in Utah there was no snow in Salt Lake City. It did not snow in Park City until the morning we were leaving. But there was a TON of snow in Little Rock. School was canceled for 2 days and my neighbor had to take Emily to school because my mom could not get out of our driveway!! It was as if we had switched climates during the time we were gone!

We had the best day skiing in Park City on Monday. The sun was shining and the sky was so pretty. Cooper went to ski school for the first time and Richard and I went skiing together. It had been 20 years since Richard last skied and 12 years for me. I think Richard was impressed that I am a better skier than him!! He fell about 10 times and I did not fall at all!! I will have to say that skiing at 32 and out-of-shape is a lot harder than skiing at 20 and in perfect shape!! I was SO sore the next day!! It was worth it though...Richard and I had the best time with it being just the 2 of us and not a care in the world. It was a great date!! (with ski school for Cooper, lift passes, and ski rental, it was the most expensive date ever--but worth every penny!!)

Cooper all dressed and ready to ski

having fun on the slopes

Cooper in ski school (he did great, but he will need several more lessons before he is ready to ski with us)

Utah is a beautiful place and everyone was so friendly!! Moving there is going to be scary but also very exciting for us. I am trying to look at it as a big adventure. We are planning to buy a house big enough for lots of visitors, so please start planning a time to come see us once we get moved and settled in!!

Weekend of Birthday Parties!!

Wow!! I am so behind on keeping-up with my blog. Hopefully I will be all caught-up in the next few days : )

Last weekend the kids had 3 birthday parties and 1 daddy daughter date!! It was a busy weekend. The first birthday party was for our neighbor Aydan. He turned 7 years old and had a slumber party at Embassy Suites. Richard took Cooper and Emily for pizza and swimming. Cooper took all his stuff to stay the night....but I REALLY did not think he would stay the night. This was Cooper's first slumber party and he was very excited about it, but I could tell he was a little nervous too. Since he was going to be the youngest kid there, I was a little nervous too!! Come to find out, several of the older boys were too scared to stay but my brave little 5 and 1/2 year old stayed the night!!! He had the best time and I could tell that he was really proud of himself for staying the night. Here he is all packed and ready to go.

Saturday morning our church had a Daddy and Daughter Pancake Breakfast. Emily was super excited to have something special for just her and daddy. Richard said that she was not on her best behavior the whole time but they still had a great time sharing breakfast together. They even got sprinkles and chocolate chips on their pancakes--she loved it!!

The next party was for our neighbor Averi. She turned 5 years old and had a princess party. Emily had the best time getting all dressed-up, getting make-up on, and having her hair done. After all the girls were ready, they danced all around the room and had a princess parade. Emily had a great time...and I think we know where she will be having her next party!!

The last party of the day was for our other neighbor Sydney. She turned 6 years old and her party was at River City Gymnastics (I think they have the best parties!!). Both kids had a great time. Richard took all 3 kids so that I could stay home and pack for our trip to Utah. Here are some fun pictures from the party:

Sweet little Lucy likes to hold on to stuff...her blanket, a toy, even the side of her car seat

Hard to believe she will be 6 months old next week....sure wish she would start sleeping through the night!!!
