Weekend Recap

We have had such a fun weekend. Richard was out of town from Wednesday till Friday (and we survived!!) so we were glad to have lots of fun things going on this weekend. Friday night one of my best friends had her baby, Presley Jane, and we were so thankful for her safe arrival. Amie and Alan did not find out if they were having a boy or a girl, so it was extra exciting for this baby to arrive! I went to their house Friday night and stayed with their 16 month old so that Alan's mom could go meet Presley. We are so happy for them and their sweet baby girl!!

We had a "cove" party on Saturday. Our neighbor started cooking ribs pretty early in the day, so all the kids played outside all day long. We had to take a quick break and go to a birthday party (Happy 1st Birthday Chandler!). When we got back home it was time to eat! There were SO many people and SO much food--it was unbelievable! Our neighbors really know how to throw a party! The best part of the night was another neighbor had this HUGE screen and projector for us to all watch Monsters vs. Aliens on. It was like being at a drive-in. Everyone had their chairs, blankets, and treats!! It was so much fun--we are going to try and do the movie once a month (once the weather gets a little warmer). Here are a few pictures from movie night (the pictures really do not do justice to how big this screen was--it took 2 cars to hold the screen up!!)

Since there was so much food leftover, our neighbors had us over tonight for more ribs and some pumpkin carving! This was our first time to carve a pumpkin and it turned out pretty good. Here are a few pictures from tonight (I forgot to take a close-up of the finished product--I got one at night with the kids making silly faces!)

For some reason Emily likes to play outside in her PJ's...

Smiling!!!

Right after I finished my last post, I was playing with Lucy and she SMILED!!! She did it 3 times and kind of laughed too!! SOOOO cute!!! Hopefully I will be able to catch a smile with the camera sometime soon.

7 Weeks (and 2 days)

I can't believe that little Miss Lucy is already 7 weeks old. Time is going too fast! I am trying to spend as much time as I can holding her and enjoying my last baby. She is still a great baby and has just fit into our life perfectly. I tried to take a few pictures of her today--I don't think she is a big fan of the camera. Most of the pictures I have of her are while she is sleeping, but I did get a couple of cute ones while she was awake today!

For the past several weeks I have been working on converting our guest bedroom into Lucy's room. She is still sleeping in the office in her pack n play, but we hope that she will be sleeping through the night soon and then we will move her up to her room. These are a few pictures of her room. She has the most basic room of all of my kids, but I still think it turned out cute. I had the curtains and cushions made to match her bedding. I am still looking for a rug and once I find that the room will be complete.

Last Friday Night

That's right...I am so behind on blogging that I am just now making a post about last Friday (the 18th). Emily has talked about wanting to be a cheerleader for a long time now. The opportunity came up at her school for her to cheer with the varsity cheerleaders at half-time. She was so excited!! She had practice everyday after school and the big show was on Friday night. She did not pay attention too well during the practices but I had high hopes that she would get out there and perform at the game. Right before the music started, she ran over to me and started crying. She said she did not want to be a cheerleader anymore!! I finally got her talked into getting out there and finishing the routine. She was one of the youngest girls there, so hopefully next year will go better. No matter what, she was SUPER cute and we were proud of her!

The best part of the night was that Emily's "boyfriend" was there to cheer her on!! They were so cute together!

Emily's boyfriend has a brother, Elliot, and he and Cooper are good buddies. Evan and Elliot are going to a new school this year, so both kids were so excited to see their friends. Here is a picture of the boys. ( Cooper kept asking when was he going to get a turn to go on the field and play football since Emily got to go be a cheerleader!)

This was our first CAC game to go to. Thank goodness my mom was there to help out. It was a little crazy. I'm not sure if we will make it to another game this year : )

One Month Old

It is so hard to believe that Lucy is already 1 month old! So far she has been a great baby. The adjustment from 2 to 3 kids has been easier than I thought it would be. Not much has been going on the last month, just trying to figure out how to make life flow the easiest for all of us.

-Lucy wakes-up only 1 time a night (usually around 3:00) eats and goes right back to sleep

-we just moved-up to size 1 diapers

-wears newborn or 0-3 months clothes (about to out grow newborn size)

-sleeps most of the day

-LOVES to be held!!!

-sleeps in the pack n play downstairs, not sure when we will move her upstairs to her room

-eats 4 ounces every 3 hours

I have not taken very many pictures lately (especially since she is always sleeping!!). Here are a few shots I took this morning.

Labor Day at the Pool

Since Labor Day is the last day for our neighborhood pool to be open, we decided to spend the day there. Luckily it was hotter than it has been so the cool water actually felt good! The weather has been so strange here the last several weeks--it has been so mild and nice out! It has been a great way to end the summer!

Our kids really came a LONG way with their swimming this summer. Cooper is completely swimming on his own--I still keep an eye on him, but for the most part I don't have to worry about him while we are at the pool. About a month ago Emily started jumping off the diving board and swimming to the latter all by herself too! I am so proud of both of them and the progress that they have made. In order to keep their skills up, we are planning to take several weekend trip this fall and winter. We are going to stay at hotels with indoor pools so we can practice swimming all year long! Maybe by next summer they will both be ready to be on the swim team!

Here are a few pictures from Labor Day at the pool....

Cooper thinks this is a cool picture of him under water...

Cooper and his buddy Aydan...

this was the warmest spot on Monday, all the kids has the best time playing in the big puddle...

this swimsuit is Emily's favorite (and mine too). For some reason her little "cheeks" end up hanging-out of the back of it--SO CUTE!!!

Go Hogs!!

The Razorback Game was here in Little Rock on Saturday and we were able to go. My best friend Sarah was supposed to be here but she ended-up getting sick, so I got to go in her place. Lucy went to stay at our neighbors house and the 4 of us headed to the game. This was the kids 3rd ball game. They were very excited to go, but once we were there they were either hot, hungry, or thirsty! I felt sorry for the people around us that had to listen to the constant complaining. We still had a great time and it was fun to get out of the house and do something fun with Cooper and Emily. Thanks Wagner's for the tickets!!

(these pictures were taken with Richard's iphone and they are not the greatest quality)
