7 Months Old....a few days late

I know I say this every month, but how is it possible that Lucy is already 7 months old!! She is such a good baby and has been changing so much. She had her first ear infection 2 weeks ago and while at the doctor she weighed in at 17 pounds 2 ounces. She is eating baby food...I have got to get better at taking the time to feed her baby food several times a day. Right now I am lucky to feed her one jar a day. She is finally sleeping through the night (for the most part). Every once in a while she will wake-up in the middle of the night but she will usually cry for a few minutes and then go back to sleep. Her first bottle is usually around 6:30 am....but considering that she has been going to sleep by 8:00pm, I feel like we are doing pretty good!! Lucy went to stay with my mom this past weekend and while she was gone she cut her first tooth. It kind of makes me sad to see her "growing-up" : ( She is good at rolling over and I can tell that she really wants to be moving. If she could figure it out, she would already be crawling. (hopefully she will hold off on that!) She has also just started shaking her head NO all the time. I have got to try and get her on video--it's so cute and she smiles so big while she is doing it.

Lucy is doing great at sitting-up unsupported and she rarely falls. She loves to sit and play with her toys.

Cooper and Emily are enjoying Lucy more and more each day. She loves to watch them play and they are about the only ones that can make her laugh.

Lucy loves to put her hands in her mouth. When she is happy, the first thing she does is stick her hands in her mouth--so cute!

She also loves to blow raspberries. She does this A LOT, with LOTS of slobber.

I think this picture is so funny. Lucy looks like she is bored and ready for the photo shoot to be over!

School and Soccer

This week Emily's class has been in charge of leading chapel. It is so sweet to hear a little 3 year old saying a prayer or leading everyone in song. Emily and the rest of the girls were in charge of leading the pledge and singing The Old Flag. They all did a great job.

Emily saying her name in the microphone:

All 4 girls saying the pledge:

Singing their song:

Lucy was not too sure about all of it:

Emily loves to come home from school and put her pajamas on. Today she decided that her dog, Taco, needed a bow since she had one:

Cooper had his first practice for Upward Soccer tonight. Cooper has never played a team sport, so this was all new tonight. He did GREAT and he had so much fun!!! They have their first game in 2 weeks--it should be pretty entertaining!

At first Emily was very tired and thought it was a good idea to hang-out in Lucy's car seat:

Then she decided she wanted to be a cheerleader for Cooper--GO PANTHERS!!

We went to Outback for dinner. On the way there, Cooper put his new uniform on (the socks were too big and he had them pulled-up to thigh!!-so cute! ) After he had changed, he looked himself over and said " I look NICE". He was cracking me up!!

School Carnival and Pancakes

CAC had their annual school fundraiser event Friday night, it's called Spring Thing. The kids had a great time playing games and jumping on the bounce around.

I think Emily looks so cute in her school uniform. Cooper likes to wear his "spirit shirt" on Fridays : )

Emily and her best friend at school, Eva:

Cooper with a little bit of face paint:

Later on with his best buddy, Brady, and lots more face paint!!

We used to have "Pancake Saturday" every Saturday at our house. It has been a long time since we have had pancakes (I think things changed once Lucy arrived), but this past Saturday the kids were begging for some yummy pancakes. The kids always ask me to make them special pancakes...a power ranger, SpongeBob, a teddy bear...and surprisingly I have been to fulfill their request. This past Saturday, Emily wanted me to make her name. It turned out much better than I expected.

Cooper asked for Gary the snail from SpongeBob. This was not my best Gary but it was still pretty good.

The pancakes were so good, we will definitely have to start having Pancake Saturday every week!! Yum Yum!!

My Little Flower

I am always in such a hurry that I forget to put cute bows or flowers in Lucy's hair (or I guess I should say around her head). We met Meme for lunch the other day and I remembered the flower--SO CUTE!! I totally forgot to take any pictures while we were at lunch : (

Sisters

I think that I have the 2 most beautiful little girls ever!! I am so glad that they have each other to grow-up with and hopefully be best friends with. I'm sure that over the years there will be plenty of times that they do not get along, but for now they love to be together. Emily is a wonderful big sister and I can tell that Lucy already looks up to her. Here are some pictures of my sweet girls together....

I could not get them to both smile at the same time...

I still think that Lucy favors Cooper more at this age, but she really is a good mix of both Emily and Cooper.

6 Months Old

It really feels like these monthly updates come around way too quickly. 6 months ago our sweet little Lucy was born. Oh how we love her and are so glad to have her in our family!! I told the doctor today that she is not sleeping through the night on a regular basis--he said to stop feeding her in the middle of the night when she wakes-up. He said after a few nights of this she should realize it is no longer meal time at 3:00AM and should start sleeping through the night. I really hope so!!! I am ready to get a full night's sleep! (Knowing that she is my last one has made it a little easier to make it through those 3 o'clock feedings). Another problem during the night has been that she has started rolling over and once she is on her tummy she does not know how to get back to her back. Sometimes when I get upstairs to feed her, she is on her tummy and she is not happy!

Her growth is right on track. She weighed 16 pounds 2 ounces today. 26 1/2 inches long and her head is 17 inches around. She did great for the doctor today, but she was super sad after getting her shots! Hopefully she will sleep OK tonight. Here are a few pictures from today. I could not get her to smile for the camera and she was slobbering a lot!

this was her favorite face to make today during her photo shoot:

Utah

Richard, Cooper, and I went to Utah last week. My SWEET, WONDERFUL mother kept the girls here in Little Rock so that we could have a little fun and start our house hunt. That's right.....we are moving to UTAH!! Richard received a job promotion back in January and he is now the Regional Business Director (RBD) for the Great West. This has been a dream of his for a long time and I am so happy to see him reach a major goal that he set for himself. Of course it is VERY hard for me to leave the comfort of Little Rock and all of our wonderful friends (who are more like family to us). We will not move until our house here sells, so I am thinking that we will not be moving until sometime this summer--but who knows, it could take much longer for us to sell our house.

It was Cooper's first time to fly. He thought it was so cool!! He really was such a good kid the whole time we were gone. I think he enjoyed getting all the attention (but he did tell us several times that he missed Emily!!)

Right before take-off:

Our lay-over was in Las Vegas. We were able to see Hoover Dam from the plane...pretty cool!!

While we were in Utah there was no snow in Salt Lake City. It did not snow in Park City until the morning we were leaving. But there was a TON of snow in Little Rock. School was canceled for 2 days and my neighbor had to take Emily to school because my mom could not get out of our driveway!! It was as if we had switched climates during the time we were gone!

We had the best day skiing in Park City on Monday. The sun was shining and the sky was so pretty. Cooper went to ski school for the first time and Richard and I went skiing together. It had been 20 years since Richard last skied and 12 years for me. I think Richard was impressed that I am a better skier than him!! He fell about 10 times and I did not fall at all!! I will have to say that skiing at 32 and out-of-shape is a lot harder than skiing at 20 and in perfect shape!! I was SO sore the next day!! It was worth it though...Richard and I had the best time with it being just the 2 of us and not a care in the world. It was a great date!! (with ski school for Cooper, lift passes, and ski rental, it was the most expensive date ever--but worth every penny!!)

Cooper all dressed and ready to ski

having fun on the slopes

Cooper in ski school (he did great, but he will need several more lessons before he is ready to ski with us)

Utah is a beautiful place and everyone was so friendly!! Moving there is going to be scary but also very exciting for us. I am trying to look at it as a big adventure. We are planning to buy a house big enough for lots of visitors, so please start planning a time to come see us once we get moved and settled in!!
