The Tooth Fairy

Cooper had a loose tooth, but the permanent tooth was already coming in WAY behind it. A friend of mine recommended a wonderful pediatric dentist and Cooper went to see him on Tuesday. The dentist was so nice and gentle with Cooper. Cooper got "laughing gas" for the first time and he still does not know that he got a shot in his mouth. Cooper did not flinch or make a noise the whole time he was in there. I was so proud of him!!! ( I was so nervous that I forgot to take the camera with us to the dentist office...so no pictures)

Later that night we wrote the Tooth Fairy a note to "please leave my tooth" since Daddy was out of town and had not seen his tooth yet. Here he is right before bed holding up the box with his tooth in it.

In the morning with his money from the tooth fairy. (I told him that the Tooth Fairy gives more money for the 1st tooth...so not to expect that much next time!!)

1st Basketball Game

Cooper is playing Upward Basketball this season. This is his first time to play basketball, so it has been VERY important for us to be at all the practices : ) The great thing about all Upward sports is that the coaches are so encouraging and keep a very positive attitude. Cooper had a great time and he even made a couple of shots! Go Cooper! (the lighting was really bad in the gym so my pictures are not the best)

Before the game started they turn the lights down and have each player run out onto the court when their name is called. It was really cute.

The whole team waiting for the game to start.

The cheerleaders....a couple of times I noticed Cooper paying more attention to them than to the game.

Cooper played really good and I know he had a lot of fun.

Snow Day

When we found out we were moving to Texas, I wondered if we would ever see much snow here. Well...lucky for us we got 5 inches of snow yesterday. The kids are out of school today and having so much fun playing with all of their friends.

This is what our house looked like about 3 hours after the snow started falling.

Cooper had his ski goggles to wear...and Emily wanted to wear her goggles too. (her swim goggles)

Richard and the big kids tried to build a snowman.

I thought Emily looked so cute in her snow suit.

Lucy was not a big fan of the snow. I held her outside while it was pouring down snow. She just kept looking around like "what is all of this white stuff". I tried to get her to touch it and she wanted no part of that! After I brought her back in, she stayed by the door and kept pointing outside. I think she will really like it if it snows again next year!

I don't have any pictures of this, but the most fun of the day was when we went sledding! There is a big hill on the golf course right by our house, so that is where we (and most of our neighbors) spent the whole day. The kids had a great time (and so did Daddy!!) After a few hours of playing outside it was time for everyone to come inside and warm-up! We had some friends over for dinner. It was a perfect day!

Christmas 2010

The last several years Santa has gone a little crazy at our house...but this year we did not let that happen. My goal was to have Santa give each kid 3 things and then 1 gift from us. They did end up with 5 gifts each from Santa but this was SO much better than I have done in the past. The last few years I realized that the kids really only played with 1 or 2 things that they got for Christmas. Even this year with only 5 gifts, there are still some things that they haven't really played with. So next year...I promise...only 3 gifts from Santa!!!

OK, on to the fun stuff. I had been anticipating Christmas morning for weeks! I could not wait to see the looks on their faces when they opened their gifts this year. Especially the gift from us!

All the presents waiting for them on Christmas morning. Cooper woke-up very early and went and told MawMaw that Santa had been there. He told her "there are millions of gifts! It's amazing!"

Best picture I could get of all 3 before they started opening presents.

Cooper and Emily each got a new bike and a new helmet. (they were super excited!) (Emily's bike came with training wheels, but they are off now and she is still doing great with no training wheels!)

Lucy had already forgotten from the night before about OPENING the presents. She really liked sitting on all the gifts.

then she walked around eating cookies for a while...

then she finally got into it, of course she had a couple of helpers

Emily got a new bag to take to slumber parties.

a new highchair for her babies

a cute new purse

Cooper loves his new Paper Jams guitar (it is pretty cool)

He also got several new Lego sets. He has put them all together and he did it all by himself. I was pretty impressed!

When I bought this gift for Lucy I had visions of her wearing it all day on Christmas. She was not a huge fan of the bunny costume like I was hoping for. She looked so cute in it!!

Lucy got several of her own toys, but she really liked climbing on Emily's new bike.

Another awesome toy that Emily got was a karaoke microphone. You plug your iphone/ipod into it and it plays all the songs from there. It has been a lot of fun watching the kids sing and dance.

Daddy and some neighborhood friends have been enjoying it too!

And last but not least....the big gift from mommy and daddy!!!

It was so fun to tell them that we are leaving in a few weeks to go to DISNEY WORLD!!! They were super excited (I may have done more jumping-up and down they did) but still they were thrilled. Lucy is going to stay with MawMaw while we go on a week long adventure to Disney World. I hope it is as fun as we are anticipating it to be! We are praying for good weather and a great time to make memories : )

Happy 2011!
