Family of 5

Well, we took our first family outing last night. All 5 of us piled into the Expedition and headed to the mall for some shopping and Chick Fil A. We actually had a great night--ALL 3 kids behaved so well!! It definitely gave me some confidence to try it again soon!!

My mom's best friend, Sandy, gave Lucy some of the cute little mary jane socks. They are SO cute!! This is what Lucy does all day--SLEEP!! So I just end-up holding her and letting her sleep in my arms. She really is the best baby, we feel so blessed!

Just a couple more cute pictures of my girls....

Guess who......

slept through the night at only 5 days old????

That's right, Lucy slept through the night last night!!! She went to bed around 11:30 and did not wake-up again until 5:30. And even after that feeding, she did not get up until 9:00! What a great baby!! I know that this was just luck, but I will be SO happy if this continues!!

So far Lucy has been an absolutely perfect baby. We are having a good time holding her and she loves to snuggle!! Here are a few more pictures from the last few days.

Lucy Caroline Cleveland

Well.... Lucy arrived on August 19, 2009 at 12:49 pm. She weighed 7 lbs, 1 oz and measured 19 and 1/2 inches long. She is perfect!!! I will have to post more later but I wanted to make sure that I posted a couple of pictures while I have the chance.

We came home from the hospital on Friday around 1:30 and she has been absolutely wonderful. Last night she woke-up at 1:30 am to eat and went right back to sleep. I ended-up having to wake her at 6:30 am to eat again. I hope it goes that well again tonight!

The kids have been so excited to have Lucy at home. They are being the best big brother and big sister that Lucy could have asked for.

This is pretty much what she does all day. Sleep and look like the cutest baby ever!! We are all so in love with her!!

The Big Day

I can't believe that I am having a baby tomorrow. I can remember on Christmas Eve telling Richard and the rest of my family that we were going to have a baby. August felt so far away then--and honestly it does feel like this has been a LONG pregnancy but here we are. Tomorrow is the big day. Tonight is the last night I will ever fall asleep (or try to fall asleep) as a pregnant person. I will never again lay awake with a baby kicking me, have crazy pregnancy dreams, or middle of the night anxiety of how am I going to take care of 3 kids!!! The last 9 months has been a journey of lots of emotions, but we could not be more excited to meet Lucy! I know that when I finally get to hold her tomorrow that I will feel complete. The name Lucy means light and I can't wait to see our little Lucy shine!

I will try to post some pictures tomorrow. Please keep us in your prayers!!

First Day of School

What a crazy morning!! Both kids had their first day of school today--Cooper started PreK 4 and Emily started PreK 3. The kids have been looking forward to this day for the last few weeks (I have been looking forward to it for the last few months!!). They both had new backpacks, lunchboxes, and some new clothes. They are going to school at CAC--Cooper is going all 5 days and Emily is going 3 days a week. I took several pictures of them this morning and they look SO big and grown-up, especially Emily.

They were both so excited about their new backpacks.....

You can tell that Cooper picked his ALL by himself.....

I did get a couple of cute pictures of the two of them together--it is so hard to get them to stand still, smile, and be nice to each other all at the same time!!

This is Cooper and his teacher, Ms. Amanda...

And Emily and her teacher, Ms. Beth.....

Just a few more cute pictures--they both seem like they are growing-up too quickly. They are really going to seem like "big kids" once Lucy gets here! Only 7 more days!!

Birthday for Lucy

If everything goes as planned....Lucy will be here on August 19th. The doctor's office called me yesterday with the instructions to be at the hospital at 10:00 and they would start the C-section around 12:00. I can't believe that she will be here in 2 weeks!! I can not wait to meet her and see who she looks like!! But most of all I can not wait to not be pregnant anymore. This has been a very long summer for me--it has been difficult to keep up with 2 kids and be HUGE pregnant, especially on the really hot days!

Please keep us in your prayers for a safe delivery, a healthy baby, and for an easy adjustment from a family of 4 to a family of 5!
