4 Months and School Parties

Wow! We have had a lot going on lately. Lucy turned 4 months old yesterday. We went to the doctor on friday and she weighed in at 13 lbs. 14 oz. She also slept through the night (from 9:30 to 7:30) on friday night--YAY!!! We are hoping that will be happening more often! Lucy smiles all the time--especially when you get her out of bed in the morning, she is so excited--it is the sweetest thing! This morning at church she started growling....and has been the rest of the day. I'm not sure if she can't figure out how to coo at us or if she just prefers to growl right now, but it is cute either way. Her other favorite things right now are to drool and to put EVERYTHING in her mouth, especially her hand/thumb. We are trying very hard to not allow her to suck her thumb, but I have a feeling she is going to get her way. She also loves to stand up, I hope that doesn't mean that she is going to be an early walker--I need her to sit still as long as possible. Here are a few cute pictures from the last few days.

Cooper and Emily had their Christmas Party at school on friday morning. First each class sang a song in chapel and then they went outside to see Santa. They had a great time and they were super excited to get to leave school after the party was over. They are out of school for the next 2 weeks--hopefully we will have plenty to do to keep us busy!

Cooper said he got a little nervous with the big crowd of people in chapel, I can tell he was nervous in this picture...

The kids with Santa...

the school arranged to have Santa come in on a horse drawn "sleigh"--it was pretty neat...

all the kids got to ride around the parking lot with Santa. They had a great time!!

Busy Busy

Life just seems really busy right now, I'm not too sure what I am busy doing but I know that I have not been giving my blog too much attention lately. These are just a couple of pictures from the last few days.

Lucy wore her cute Christmas dress to church today--I don't think she could have looked any cuter!!

she looks so different with a hat on, so here's one with no hat--she has been putting everything in her mouth lately...

we sent out our Christmas cards this past week, and I ended-up doing a card with 3 separate pictures on it since I could not get a good shot of all 3 kids together. This morning before church I did finally get a cute one of all of them...

there were so many out-takes, but I think this was my favorite..

We watched little Miss Presley the other day and I think Lucy has decided that she is her new best friend...

Emily was a great helper too....

Emily loves to dress-up, so here she is in her tutu...

Thanksgiving 2009

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. We went to Springfield, MO to visit my Mom's side of the family. We stayed in Branson and just drove back and forth to Springfield. We stayed at the Hilton and they gave us a fabulous suite! It was so nice to have all the extra room and a full kitchen! (of course I forgot to take a picture of it!). It was good to see family and introduce Lucy to everyone.

Cooper in front of the train at Branson Landing...

Lucy was all smiles Thanksgiving morning--she behaved the best out of all the kids!

the kids with their cousin Sara. ( I meant to take more pictures of family, but I totally forgot to do it, so this is the only picture I took with a cousin--I really need to work on taking more pictures!!)

after learning all about Thanksgiving and the turkey at school this year, Cooper could not wait to eat a turkey leg (and he actually ate it!!)

the day after thanksgiving we went to the Bass ProShop in Springfield. The kids love going there and playing on all the 'toys" (daddy likes the toys too!)

Santa was at Bass Pro and they take your picture for FREE. Richard took this one, but it is hard to get a good picture of 3 kids at the same time...

It is also VERY hard to get a picture of all 5 of us! I look terrible (I still have 10 pounds to lose) but this may be the first picture of our family....

Lucy got all decked-out in one of her hats to go to a party the other night...

Happy 3 Months Lucy!

I know I say this every month, but the time is going by too quickly. I can't believe it has already been 3 months! Lucy is still a very easy baby and she has made having 3 kids much easier than I ever thought it could be. She still is not sleeping through the night, but she takes her bottle and goes right back to sleep. We have not moved her upstairs to her room yet--probably sometime next month. She developed an intolerance to her formula about a month ago so we have had to switch to Alimentum (the real expensive and stinky stuff!) but it makes her tummy not hurt so we are glad to have a formula that works for her. Lucy is cooing and smiling all of the time and I think I have heard her try to laugh a couple of times too. She loves to stand up while you are holding her--maybe she will be an early walker (I hope not!). Here are a few pictures from her actually 3 month birthday on the 19th--of course I could not get her to smile in any of them.

I tried to take her out to run errands with her cute little hat on but before we even left the house, this is what she looked like....

so needless to say she did not get to show-off her cute hat that we borrowed from our friend Chandler.

This is how Cooper loves to end his night--him, daddy, and Lucy all together either in the chair or cuddled up in bed together. So sweet!!

Fun Stuff

The kids have been doing some fun activities the last few weeks. In Emily's class at school they have been learning about working in the kitchen, so for fun I let the kids make a mix of whatever they wanted. They put everything from Apple Jacks, rice, jelly, food coloring--a little bit of everything from the kitchen. It was SO gross, we ended-up calling it monster mix. They had a great time playing and making a mess. After it was all over with, I told them we were having lasagna for dinner--they both started crying and said "I don't like lasagna!!". I then gave them the option the either have lasagna or monster mix for dinner. Surprisingly both kids ate lasagna that night and Cooper even ate every last bite!! We may have to make monster mix more often--maybe I can get them to eat roast next time!

Cooper has been being really good at school lately, so he earned himself a special treat. He decided that he wanted to go rock climbing with daddy. There is an indoor climbing place here so they went there last Saturday for their fun "boys" time. This was only the second time that Cooper has done something like this. Richard said that Cooper did get a little nervous when he got close to the top but he did a good job! They had a great time together!

Lucy will be 3 months old on Thursday!! Time is going too quickly. I had her in her Bumbo seat today and she looks so cute. She has been putting her hands in her mouth every chance she gets. I really hope she does not suck her thumb--it is such a hard habit for kids to break! She is also getting good at holding her head up during tummy time.

My Little Pumpkins

I bought this shirt when Cooper was little and now every child has worn it during the fall. I thought it would be fun to post a picture of each kid wearing the same pumpkin shirt. I have always thought that Lucy looks just like Cooper, but after seeing these pictures I will have to admit that I think she favors Emily more. Keep in mind that Cooper and Emily are about 2 months older than Lucy when these pictures were taken.

Cooper....

Emily.....

Lucy.....

I guess that really they all look alike at this age. It will be fun over the next year to see who Lucy ends-up looking more like!
